Pandemic Update: Mask-Friendly at Worship

On May 9th, 2022 the Just North UCC Board of Directors discussed our current COVID-19 guidelines. A guest epidemiologist joined us to share her thoughts. The board has agreed on the following guidelines (which will change if needed).

Masks are recommended but not required.

People up front who are more than 6′ away from the front pews can remove masks for singing, speaking and preaching!

Social Distancing is recommended but not required

Please respect people’s comfort zones.

Temperature checks are no longer required

Continue to use hand-washing and sanitizer

If you feel ill

Please stay home and connect with us through the online service.

Worship Service Activities

  • Donation Collection: we will return to passing the collection plate
  • Communion: TBD–Deacons will meet to plan how to do this. For now, we will not be dipping pieces bread in communal grape juice.

Some people will be happy to hear about our relaxed rules, others will feel anxious. Please respect where everyone is given that underlying health conditions, ability to get vaccinated, etc vary from person to person.

If you are with a small group of people where you know their vaccination and health status you might decide to not wear a mask. If you are in public, particularly in close proximity, masking can make sense. In all cases consult with your own health care professional for the guidelines that are best for you.
