Christian Education promotes learning and growth of faith for children, youth, and adults.
- Sunday Journeys for children and youth during 10:30 worship
- Adult Education opportunities at 9:15 AM
- Faith & Film, 2nd Friday of month
- host Hanging of the Greens Advent celebration
- host Easter morning breakfast with Easter egg hunt for children
Deacons provide for the spiritual care of members.
- prepares and serve communion.
- serves in special worship services: Advent, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter prayer vigil, Easter and Pentecost
- cares of the altar and altar cloths
- updates membership records and the production of a church directory
Evangelism & Communication leads the way in providing an extravagant welcome.
- organizes community outreach events such as Game Night, 4th Friday of month
- assists in contacting church visitors
- organizes new member Covenant classes.
- recruits Sunday greeters, coffee servers and coffee clean-up
- oversees church website: justnorthucc.org
Stewardship fosters growth in generosity.
- plans and oversees the fall financial campaign
- promotes UCC special offerings:
– One Great Hour of Sharing (worldwide disaster relief and development)
– Neighbors in Need (justice advocacy and Native American ministries),
– Strengthen the Church (new church, redevelopment and preparation for ministry), and
– Christmas Fund (retired clergy assistance)
- acts as a clearinghouse for fund-raising events planned by groups within the church
- plans and conducts a Gifts of Time & Talent campaign in the spring
- prepares an annual budget for approval by the Council and the congregation at the Annual Meeting in January
Community Outreach and Mission leads us in serving beyond the walls of our church.
- B.R.E.A.D. Building Responsibility, Equality And Dignity, an interfaith, grass roots justice advocacy group
- meals for the Y Family Shelter (for homeless families), prepare, deliver and serve a meal four times a year
- volunteers at the Southside Community Pantry housed a St Paul UCC where we provide groceries to hungry people one week a month
- monthly “ Bring & Sing” gathers food donations for SSCM pantry
- produce market is a community fresh produce give away 2nd Saturday spring to fall
- October CROP walk which promotes hunger relief
- special Christmas projects for those in need
