Immigration Justice Ministry Update

José, Susana, Miguelangel, and Mariangel, a family from Honduras seeking asylum in the United States, spent over a year housed in our church. Financial, emotional, and legal support for the family has been provided through the collaborative efforts of Just North UCC, First Unitarian Universalist, Temple Israel, the UCC denomination, as well as other organizations and individuals. Fifteen months after their arrival at Just North UCC they moved into their own apartment, received work permits and José secured employment. The family is enjoying their new found freedom living in their own space as they await their asylum case to be heard. North Congregational is still walking alongside them and providing support as needed as they continue their journey to independence.
